Abstract

The improvement in seed yield characters was the manifestation of improved growth characters as a result of higher uptake of nutrients caused by application of zinc and iron. Results of the experiment reveals that soil application of ZnSO4 @ 10 kg ha-1 + Foliar spray of FeSO4 @ 0.5 % along with RDF and FYM @ 8 t ha-1 increased the seed yield by 22.68 q ha-1 and higher uptake of nutrients Viz., N, P, K, S and Micronutrients as, Zn, Fe in grain and Stover of sunflower. The results of the experiment shows that zinc soil application and iron foliar spray @ 0.5 % at grand growth stage of sunflower along with the recommended dose of fertilizers and farm yard manure recorded significantly higher growth, yield and nutrients uptake compared to of RDF control.
