UTILIZATION, ISOLATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CHLORELLA VULGARISFOR CARBON SEQUESTRATION AND WASTE WATER TREATMENT BY PERFORMING FTIR SPECTRAL STUDIESP. INDHUMATHI, M. SOUNDARARAJAN, P.S. SYED SHABUDEEN, U.S. SHOBA AND E.SURESHAbstract Green microalgae Chlorella vulgarisspecies was collected from Bhavani Lake at Erode District, Tamil Nadu State, India. The Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopic studies were utilized to examine morphology of Chlorella vulgaris. Chlorella vulgarisis attempted for its efficiency in removing nitrate and phosphate from waste water medium. These experimental studies reveal that, Chlorella vulgarisis having full-fledged efficiency in removing nitrates and phosphates from waste water medium. ‘Chlorella Vulgaris’ was successful in 100% removal efficiency of Nitrates and Phosphates at a time intravel of 6 days.
