CELL WALL BOUND INVERTASE PRODUCTION BY PENICIL LIIIM PURPLIROGENLIMA.B. DHAKE AND M. B. PATILAbstract The isolated strain of Penicilliurn was found to produce cell wall bound invertase. The invertase level was maximum after 4 days of incubation. The cell wall bound invertase exhibited optimum activity at pH 4.5 and 37°C. Sodium Dodecyl Sulphate (SDS) at 0.05% concentration gives maximum solubilization of invertase from cell wall. The metal ion Na+ shows induction, Hg2+ shows strong inhibition and chelating agent (EDTA) has no significant effect on invertase activity.
