ABERRATIONS IN MICROANATOMICAL STRUCTURE OF DIFFERENT ORGANS DUE TO IMPACT OF CHRONIC EXPOSURE TO SEWAGE IN OREOCHROMIS MOSSAMBICAARCHANA KUMTA AND RAKESH KUMARAbstract Sewage at sublethal concentration of 11% causes numerous aberrations in the estuarine fish Oreochromis mossambica acclimated to laboratory saline conditions. The sewage causes a number of anomalies in the most of the major organs like gills, liver, alimentary canal, hcpatopancreas and spleen. This is also confirmed by the increase in the oxygen consumption and decrease in the food consumption duc to the stress experienced by the fish when exposed to the toxicant for a period of 30 days.
