CHANGES IN PROTEIN,GLYCOGEN AND LIPID CONTENT IN DIFFERENT TISSUES OF FRESHWATER FISH, CHANNA GACHUA ON EXPOSURE TO DIMETHOATE

Abstract

In the present investigation , freshwater fish,Channa gachua were exposed to lethal (20 ppm) and sublethal (2 ppm) concentration of dimethoate for 96 hour. At the end of exposure period biochemical estimations were made in liver, gill, musle and kidney of exposed fish and compared to that of control fish.It was found that the biochemical components i.e. protein,glycogen and lipid reduced in all the tissues of exposed fishes due to stress caused by acute exposure of dimethoate.
