Sharma and Ram KishanAbstract Growth of fingerlings of Indian major carp, Cirrhinus mrigala was studied using fishmin (a multi micro-nutrient fertilizer). Three doses of fishmin were applied at the rates of 2, 3 and 4 mg/I in two sets of cement cisterns. One set provided with soil bottom while another was devoid of soil. The highest fish growth (17.6 g) for 28 days period was obtained from the set having soil bottom and treatment which received fishmin ie., 4 mg/I. The growth of fingerlings was significantly high in cisterns having soil beds as compared to those without it (P <0.01).
