Abstract

Effect of silk industry effluent on physico- chemical characteristics of Khajua Lake at Mubarakpur, Azamgarh (UP) was studied. Samples were collected from two sampling stations viz. marginal zone and central zone. Temperature, pH, BOD, COD, total hardness and free carbon dioxide values were found higher and DO values were found lower at marginal zone as compared to the central zone. The silk industry Mubarakpur, Azamgarh causes severe pollution in Khajua lake.
