OPTIMIZATION OF ARBUSCULAR MYCORRHIZAL FUNGUS GLOMIIS FASCICULATUM CULTURE AGAINST ROOT-KNOT NEMATODE MELOIDOGYNE INCOGNITA ON TOMATOK.R. SHREENIVASA, K. KRISHNAPPA, N.G. RAVICHANDRA, B. RAVIKUMAR, K.C. KIRAN KUMAR AND K. KARUNAAbstract A field microplot experiment was conducted for optimization of Glomus fasciculatum culture for the management of root knot nematode on tomato. Application of G. fasciculatum in tomato nursery bed was found effective in improving plant growth, development and yield of tomato. It also reduced nematode population correspondingly with increase in inoculum levels of G. fasciculatum from 0.5 to 2.5 kg / m2. Differences in plant growth parameters due to G. fasciculatum inoculum from 1.5 to 2.5 kg/m2 were not statistically different. Application of Glasciculatum @ 1.5 kg/ m2 resultedin vigorous transplantable seedlings.
