Abstract

A field experiment was conducted during Kharif in 2020 at CCS HAU, College of Agriculture, Kaul research farm to investigate the effects of FYM and micronutrients on the physico-chemical properties of direct seeded basmati rice. The study used a randomized block design with seven treatments, each with a different combination of chemical fertilizer (RDF), farmyard manure (FYM), and micronutrients (ZnSO4 and FeSO4). When FYM was used in conjunction with RDF, soil physico-chemical properties such as bulk density (BD), pH, and electrical conductivity (EC) exhibited no significant results, but they had significant increase in soil organic carbon (OC), NPK content and DTPA extractable micronutrients. Highest NPK content and DTPA-extractable micronutrient content in soil was observed in 75% RDF + FYM @ 15 t ha-1 treatment followed by 50% RDF + FYM @ 15 t ha-1.
