ANALYSIS OF POTENTIAL YIELD AND YIELD GAP OF KHARIF RICE IN PRAYAGRAJ DISTRICT OF UTTAR PRADESH USING CERES-RICE MODELChinmaya Kumar Sahu, Naveen Kumar Bind, Siddhant Gupta, Biswarup Mehera and Ravi KiranAbstract The study explains the modelling strategy used to calculate the yield gap in the Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh. CERES Rice model was calibrated and validated for all the cultivars. Eight years of (2012-2019) Prayagraj district yields were collected from College of Forestry, SHUATS, Prayagraj. The difference between potential and actual yield served as the basis for the yield gap estimation. The average yield gap for Prayagraj condition of Swarna sub-1, Sarjoo-52, Pant dhan 4 and NDR â 359 was 819.375 kg/ha, 1178.75 kg/ha, 605.875 kg/ha and 1034.375 kg/ha respectively. Among all the four varieties Pant dhan 4 is having least yield gap. The results suggest that there is plenty of scope to increase farmersâ yields by improving crop management. |
