Abstract

The study area was selected in Diwaniyah Governorate in Diwaniyah oil refinery to study spatial heterogeneity and prediction of polluting elements in the area. Twenty samples were obtained from the surface and their coordinates were determined by GPS device. The most appropriate variance for these elements was the Sperical model to describe the heterogeneity of iron, zinc and cadmium and the circular model to describe heterogeneity. Copper and nickel while the Stable model was appropriate to describe lead variability. The results of spatial distribution and prediction of the subsequent values of the unobserved sites of these elements showed that they are close to their measured values and that pollution is increasing for this area.
