Abstract

North Gresik District is a dry land area. Water available in this district wasn’t sufficient for the society in dry season. The aim of this study was to get the overview of the water resources availability, water quality, and lake water parameter influenced by season. This study was conducted by collecting data through survey and laboratory analysis. Data analysis of water quality data was described by the statistic method. Water quality data in dry and rainy season was tested by Mann-Whitney method. The result showed that water resources in this district were lake water and well water. In dry season, there were only 6 lakes from 22 lakes which the water can be utilized. The result of statistical description showed that at least 4 quality parameters have not met water lake requirements for hygiene sanitations and drinking water. Those 4 parameters were the content of surfactant, organic matter, E. coli, and total coliform. Turbidity parameter and water lake color were not meeting the requirements for drinking water. The parameters of quality of well water have not met for sanitation and drinking water. Those parameters were total dissolved solid (TDS), color, surfactant, and organic matter. Mann-Whitney test showed that lake water quality was influenced by season based on colour parameters (p value was 0.010 <0.05) and E. coli content (p value of 0.037 <0.05). The colour and content of E. coli in lake water has decreased significantly in the rainy season.
