Abstract

The field experiments were conducted at Regional Agriculture Research Station Karjat, Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli (Maharashtra) for two consecutive during the kharif and rabi seasons in the cropping years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The soil of the experimental site was clay-loam in texture during both the years 2022 and 2023, respectively. The experiment comprised of nine nutrient management practices (Control, 75, 100% RDF, 75% RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha-1, 75% RDF + vermicompost @ 1.5 t ha-1, 100% RDF + FYM @ 5 t ha-1, 100% RDF + vermicompost @ 1.5 t ha-1, 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + vermicompost @ 0.75 t ha-1 and 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + vermicompost @ 0.75 t ha-1) and three level of sulphur and zinc (Zn @ 6 kg ha-1, Sulphur @ 20 kg ha-1 and Zn @ 3 kg + Sulphur @ 10 kg ha-1) thereby involving 27 treatment combination which was replicated three times in split plot design. The paddy crop fertilized with 100% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + vermicompost @ 0.75 t ha-1 gave significantly higher protein content in grain but remained at par with 75% RDF + FYM @ 2.5 t ha-1 + vermicompost @ 0.75 t ha-1, 100% RDF + FYM @ 5.0 t ha-1,100% RDF+ vermicompost @ 1.5 t ha-1. Application of sulphur @ 20 kg ha-1fetched highest protein content in grain.
