Abstract
A phyto sociological survey was conducted in order to evaluate the diversity and variety of weed flora in the garden land fields of the Annamalainagar in Tamilnadu, India. Annamalai nagar has a sub-tropical environment with the mean of yearly rainfall of 1200 to 1500 mm. The study was conducted during Marghazipattam, 2022 to ascertain the weed flora, species composition, density, frequency and important value index (IVI). To forecast which weed species are primarily affecting the ecosystems found in garden land fields is the main objective of the study. Five grasses, four broad-leaved weeds and one sedge were found overall. The most common type of weed flora in the garden land fields of Annamalainagar is grass. According to the findings, the most prominent weeds in garden land fields are Cyperus rotondus and Cyanodon dactylon, closely followed by Trianthema portulcastrum, Dactylactium aegyptium, Phyllanthus niruri, Panicum repens and Digiteria sangulensis.
