THE EFFECT OF EARTHWORM CASTING MEDIA WITH ORGANIC LIQUID FERTILIZER ON SANDALWOOD (SANTALUM ALBUM L.) GROWTH

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of giving organic liquid fertilizer on sandalwood seedling with casting media. The study was conducted by experimental method in greenhouse. Seedlings were grown on Mediteran soil media (control) and Mediteran soil added with earthworm casting (treatment). The type of liquid organic fertilizer used consists of organic vegetable (P1), animal (P2) and mixed (P3) and repeated four times. The observation of sandalwood seedling growth was carried out on weekly heights during two months. The data were analyzed by general linear model of repeated measure analysis of variant. The results showed that there was a difference of effect of liquid fertilizer on high sandalwood seedlings. Statistical analysis shows the influence of media on the growth of sandalwood seeds. High differences in mediteran soil media with highest casting occurred in treatment with organic mix fertilizer (0.78 cm), and the lowest was organic plant fertilizer (0.07 cm).
