HISTOPATHOLOGICAL EVALUATION OF HEPATOPROTECTIVE ACTIVITY OF AEGLE MARMELOS (L.) CORR. AGAINST CARBON TETRACHLORIDE INDUCED TOXICITYMonika Sharma, Ishita Yadav and Chandra Kant SharmaAbstract In the present study, Aegle marmelos L. fruit extract was selected as a therapeutic agent to cure heptotoxicity induced by CCl4 in rats. Healthy wistar rats were administrated with solitary dose of CCl4 (0.15 mL/kg, i.p.). Intoxicated animals were treated with aqueous extract of Aegle marmelos fruit at the dose 750 mg/kg. Liver samples were collected consequent to dissection further more subjected to histopathological analysis. Administration of CCl4 transformed a variety of changes which were refurbish towards normal by the dose of Agele marmelos fruit. Thus the study revealed that the Aegle marmelos extort of fruit is able to cure liver toxicitiy.
