STUDY OF PHYSICO-CHEMICAL PROPERTIES OF LAKE PICHOLA, DIST. UDAIPUR, RAJASTHAN, INDIA

Abstract

The present study was carried out to study various physico chemical factors which are affecting the water quality of Lake Pichola, District, Udaipur, Rajasthan. City Udaipur is completely dependent on its lakes water. Various parameters such as temperature, transparency, total dissolved solids (TDS), pH, alkalinity, hardness, dissolved oxygen (DO) and biochemical oxygen demand (BOD), Phosphate, Nitrate, Chloride, Faecal Coliform and Total coliforms were analyzed for year 2016 and 2017. The present study was aimed to assess the different parameters so that efficient approach can be made for the treatment of water of lake Pichola. The water was found to be polluted due to presence of high quantity of total coli and faecal coli form.
