EFFECTIVITY OF COCONUT SHELL CHARCOAL AND MORINGAOLEIFERA POWDER IN DOMESTIC WASTE WATER TREATMENTNur Aini Bunyani and Willem Amu BlegurAbstract Household activities produce waste water. The more activities will release more domestic waste water.They should be treated well before let them into our environment. It can cause little or huge environmental problems. The aim of these research was to analyze effectivity of Moringaoleifera powder as coagulant and coconut shell charcoal as filter of domestic waste water. Sample collecting from Regional Police Housing(RPH) in South Oesapa, Kupang City. Sample filled in a bucket, homogenized and filtering. Firstly weadded M. oleifera powder as coagulant. After that, we used coconut shell charcoal twice as filter media.Laboratory data performance that domestic waste water quality was good. Results showed that using two times filtering, have gotten decreasing percentage of BOD 70.50%, COD 15.00%, TSS 26.81%, fat and oil 59.33%, turbidity 65.84%, hardness 42.50% and low increasing of pH, but still under waste water quality standard of Indonesian Environment Ministry on 2014.
