Various researches have been done in order to use of these biological richness sustain ably. Therefore, this study aims to find out anti tumor activities on some algae species found in Nain Island waters. Types of algae to be tested were Halimeda opuntia, Halymenia durvillaei, Padina australis and Laurencia papillosa. Antitumor activity test wasperformed by MTT method [3, (4,5-dimethylthiazol-2yl) -2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide]. The tumorcells used were HeLa phasage 30 tumor cells. The results showed that Halimeda opuntia of methanol extracthad cytotoxic activity and was categorized as an active antitumor.
