Amit Arora, Parampreet Kaur, Munish Kumar and Sidhant Chopra

Abstract

Concrete is considered as one of the important material for the construction around the globe because of its high compressive strength. These days instead of concrete, composite concrete is finding more applications in construction industry as it can utilize many types of waste generated due to increasing human activities.Materials such as waste rubber tire, waste glass, coconut fiber, rice husk ash, fly ash, etc. are used these days for the replacement of sand (as fine aggregates) in concrete. Moreover it is not putting any adverse effect on the compressive strength of concrete. In the present study, Sand is placed with crumb rubber with the percentage of 1%, 3% & 5%. It is observed after testing the cubes, its compressive strength decreases from 22.7N/mm2 to 18.4N/mm2.
