DOES INCREASING NESTBOXES SIZE AFFECTS BREEDING SUCCESS OF BLUE TITS (CYANISTES CAERULEUS)? STUDY IN A LOCALITY OF SERAIDI (NORTHEAST, ALGERIA)

Abstract

For many years, the use of nestboxes, as artificial cavities, has been widely disseminated in the studies treating the reproductive aspects of blue tits. In this study, we have tried to show if there is an impact of an experimental expansion of nestboxes on the breeding parameters of the bluetits. The results showed that all reproduction parameters are different between standard size nestboxes and experimentally enlarged nestboxes. We can consider that the experimental expansion of nestboxes have a significative effect on the breeding parameters of bluetit.
