Abstract

From ancient times plants have served human beings as a natural source for therapies and treatments.Medicinal herbs have gained interest among them due to its less side effects and variety of uses. In last fewyears research has increased throughout the world and a large amount of evidence has been there to showimmense potential of medicinal plants used in various traditional systems. V. vinifera belongs to the familyVitaceae also referred as wine grape or common grape or European grape, widely grown fruit crop throughoutthe world. Bioactive compounds of V. vinifera have various pharmacological activities like anti-inflammatory,hepatoprotective activity, antioxidative and antimicrobial activity together with cardio protective and invitro activity against cancer cell lines. The objectives of thepresent study to identify the bioactive compoundspresent different extract of V. Viniferaby Gas chromatography- mass spectrometry (GC-MS) analysis. TheGC-MS chromatogram of the ethanolic, methanolic and aqueous extract of V. viniferafruit extract showsnearly 28, 30 and 25 bioactive compounds respectively.
