EFFECT OF CODACIDE AS A NEW ADJUVANT ON HERBICIDES REDUCTION IN WHEAT FIELDS

Mozhgan Veisi and Eskandar Zand

Abstract

In order to evaluate efficacy of Codacide in weed control of wheat fields of Iran, field studies were conducted during 2014-2015 at Kermanshah. Treatments were arranged in a RCBD design with four replications. 10.5, 12.8 and 15 g a.i. ha-1 + Codacide at 0.25% (v/v), Clodinafop propargyl (Tapik 8 EC) 48, 64 and 80 g a.i. ha-1, Clodinafop propargyl (Tapik 8 EC) 48, 64 and 80 g a.i. ha-1 + Codacide at 0.25% (v/v) and hand weeding. Weed percent damage based on EWRC scores at 30 days after spraying, weed density reduction (%), weed biomass reduction (%) and wheat grain yield were measured. According to the results, Avena ludoviciana, Galium tricornutum, Geranium tuberosum, Carduus pycnocephalus, Centaurea depressa in Kermanshah, were the dominant weeds. The best treatments were Tribenuron methyl 12.8 80 g a.i. ha-1 + Codacide 0.25% (v/v) and clodinafop propargyl) 48 and 64 g a.i. ha-1+ Codacide 0.25% (v/v). Generally, both herbicides acted more efficiently with Codacide rather than alone.
