STUDY OF PARTICULATE MATTERS OF SIZE 10 AND 2.5 IN SELECTED AREAS OF BENGALURU CITY-A CASE STUDYS. HARINATHAbstract The present day environment crisis demands a change in attitude, which initiatives can be taken to rescue environment from destruction in the city aears. This paper has made an attempt to assess the trend of air pollution caused by vehicles and other activities in Bengaluru city, present study was carried out in selected areas of the city and the results were showing higher than the permissible values. The study shows that the traffic volume influences to increase the pollutants in the city. During peak hours traffic volume is plying predominantly very high due to this effect the increase of pollutents in higher level than permissible level.
