ANALYSIS OF POLLUTANT CONCENTRATIONS AT INDUSTRIAL ESTATE CILEGON: MONITORING AND MODELING OF LAGRANGIAN

YAYAT RUHIAT, HALIM AKBAR AND SRI TUTIE RAHAYU

Abstract

The Cilegon industrial estate consisted of three zones and several industries with different types and capacities of fuel and high stack. Different types and capacities of fuel had influenced the range of pollutants and different concentrations of each air pollutant, whereas stack height differences have implications for spacing distances. Based on monitoring results, the researchers found that there were six types of emitted air pollutants, namely: nitrogen dioxide (NO2), dust, sulfur dioxide (SO2), carbon monoxide (CO), hydrocarbons, and lead (Pb). To know the concentration of air pollutant, the researchers also did the measurement and modeling. The measurement was done by high volume sampling method and paper tape sampling. Analysis of pollutant emissions on each stack was used through the Screen 3 software. The amount of air pollutant concentration in each region was analyzed using Lagrangian model. The results showed that the six air pollutants, dust and HC particles in some places exceeded the air quality standard. Meanwhile, air pollutants NO2, SO2, CO and Pb were still below the air quality standard. Highest dust and HC pollutants occurred in the Krakatau Steel and Ciwandan zones.
