IDENTIFICATION OF PRACTICAL PLANS TO COMBAT DROUGHT CRISIS IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES AND THEIR APPLICATION IN IRANMohammad Ali Node Farahani, Abdolrahman Keshvari and Ana RasekhiAbstract Drought is a natural and unavoidable phenomenon that has occurred widely in many countries, especially in the warm and dry regions. Climatic factors such as high temperatures, severe winds and lower relative humidity are often associated with this phenomenon in many parts of the world and can significantly increase its severity. Studies have shown that, Iran, as many countries in the Middle East and North Africa, is in poor condition in terms of supplying water resources given its geographical and climatic conditions. This suggests the likelihood of further drought in the future. Obviously, in the event of inefficient technical management and the use of inappropriate strategies, in addition to the loss of available resources and the intensification of the destructive effects of drought, the ground will be increasingly provided for subsequent droughts. This paper investigated the climatic conditions of different regions of Iran and after studying the factors of drought in Iran and similar climatic regions in developed countries, expressed the practical plans and solutions used to reduce and counteract this phenomenon in the short term in California and compared the results in this State and Sabzevar (case study). Subsequently, a three-part plan is presented for the midand long-term interval.
