Mushroom is one of the excellent source for protein, vitamins and minerals. Lignocellulosic agricultural crop residues and agro-industrial by-products are rich in organic compounds that are worthy of being recovered and transformed. The present research was targeted to achieve the yield of mushroom from various agro wastes. Pleurotus florida was cultivated in various agro waste substrates such as paddy straw, sugarcane waste and sawdust. Production of Pleurotus florida was optimized with various physiological and environmental factors. From this study revealed that paddy straw is the substrate which enhance the yield of mushroom. This research showed a great boom for the farmers to start small scale industries for the commercialization process.
