STUDY ON FEASIBILITY OF USING STEEL INDUSTRY WASTE AS COARSE AGGREGATE IN CONCRETEM. ARIVOLI, R. MALATHY AND G. BALACHANDRANAbstract This paper presents the experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the effects of concrete by replacing the normal coarse aggregate by steel slag. This industrial waste has been encouraged in construction industries because it contributes to reduce the usage of natural resources. In this paper, a comparison is made between the conventional concrete and steel slag aggregate concrete to understand the strength, durability and ecological parameters of both. In this study concrete of M20 and M30 grades were designed with a water-cement ratio of 0.55 and 0.45 respectively for the replacement of coarse aggregate 0% and 100% by steel slag. This study reveals that steel slag aggregate concrete shows better strength and good durability properties than conventional concrete.
