EVALUATION OF GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSION FROMTRANSPORTATION SECTOR IN SEMARANG, INDONESIA

Abstract

Semarang is the capital of Central Java Province and one of the metropolitan city in Indonesia with population of 1,596,036. The Climate Change issue, one of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions contributor is from the transport sector. The number of private cars is many as 33,523 oplet 859,motor bikes 119,019, buses 443, trucks 913 and taxi as many as 1,265. Trend from mobility pattern from Sub urban to Centre Business District (CBD). The method of this research is mixed method with using qualitative and quantitative data. The result of this research is movement pattern in transportation sector is changing from local CBD to sub urban area and sprawl area. The distance activities are changing form 4 km in 2007 to 7.7 km in 2014. Greenhouse gas emission also increase form 1.110,204 ton CO2e in year of 2010 to 7.366.513 ton CO2e in year of 2016.
