Abstract

In 2015 - 2016, in the conditions of the West Kazakhstan region the species composition of the grain beetle in cereal agrocenoses has been studied, the field studies have been conducted on the effect of soil moisture and crop rotation, on the preferability of egg laying by the grain beetle, on the distribution of eggs along the soil layers, and on the effect of soil moisture on the survival of eggs. It has been established that out of the three types of grain beetles found on wheat crops, the Anisoplia austriaca grain beetle dominates, the rest are observed in a single quantity. For egg laying grain beetle has preferred mainly physically moist and soft soils, which are formed under the tilled crops due to taking of agrotechnical measures on these fields during the growing season. We have also noted a higher survival rate of eggs and the percentage of larvae hatching under irrigation conditions compared to those in the bogharic lands.
