A CONCEPTUAL APPROACH TO PREVENT FALLING HAZARD AT CONSTRUCTION SITE

D. Kamalnataraj and V. Ramasamy

Abstract

Present projects in construction sector are huge and the projected growth in upcoming years is massive throughout the world. The frequency of accidents is increasing due to proximity of work site personnel to the hazard conditions. Though various safety precautions and barricading are utilized at site still accidents are occurring due to the lack between the reaction time by site personnel and the safe distance from the hazard. This paper is elaborately discussing the implementation of the hazard detector as a Personal Protective Equipment (radio frequency sensor) for preventing the accidents. However, this detector was designed to control reaction time and safe working distance from hazards and the site personnel in the working place.
