THE STUDY OF SOCIAL-ECONOMIC EFFECTS OF TOURISM SITES ON REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT (THE CASE STUDY: CHAHNIMEH TOURISM SITE IN SISTAN REGION), IRAN

Abstract

Nowadays in many countries, investment in tourism infrastructure is the main force for development and economic growth and by providing a strategic opportunity, it will diversify the regional economy and create jobs, it will balance the region, it will create income and will increase the value of resources. Therefore, the development of t ourism is one of the first options for local, regional and national managers and planners in all regions of the world that are planning to expand it. In this regard the goal of the present research is the study of social-economic effects of tourism sites on regional development (the case study: Chahnimeh tourism site in Sistan region). The research method is descriptive-analytic based on library, documentary and field studies and the multi-criteria model of Electre- TRI has been used to analyze the data. The results of ranking of the criteria showed that among the 7 studied indices, reducing the unemployment rate with the weight of 0.204 is ranked in first place and the indices of improving the living standards and infrastructure development with a score of 0.049 is ranked in last place. The results of prioritization of options also showed that Chahnimeh tourism site has the most social-economic impact on cities of Zahak, Zabol, Mohammadabad, Adimi, Dost mohammad and Ramshar respectively.
