ISOLATION AND HEAVY METALS BACTERIAL RESISTANT TEST FROM FORMER OF BAUXITE MINING AT BINTAN ISLANDFUJI ASTUTI FEBRIA, VANESHA OCTAVELLY AND INDRA JUNAIDI ZAKARIAAbstract The former of bauxite mining soil contain various type of heavy metals associated with bauxite. Naturally there are groups of bacteria that are resistant to heavy metals. This group of bacteria can be used as biological agents to improve environmental well being. This research aims to isolate bacteria and test the metal resistant component. Research methods including survey for sample location determination, followed by experimental methods in the laboratory to test metal resistant component of the bacteria isolate. The results found 6 isolates resistant to ferrous (Fe), 4 isolates resistant to copper (Cu) metal, 1 isolate resistant to chromium (Cr) tested at 50 ppm, 100 ppm, 150 ppm and 200 ppm concentration in stages using heavy metal modified medium ; FeCl3, CuSO4 and K2CrO4.
