INDUSTRIAL WASTE WATER TREATMENT USING MEMBRANE BIOREACTORK. Sathiya and S. KeerthinarayanaAbstract As a prerequisite to effectively treat the chloropyrifos (CPF) residues present in ground water/wastewater/ surface water by extractive type membrane bioreactor (EMBR), an attempt was made to thoroughly assess the trans diffusion behavior of CPF residues through the popularly being used silicone rubber membrane tube. For this high quality hospital grade membrane (HGM) tube and several transmembrane experiments were performed, in view of understand the influent concentration of CPF, solution pH, and presence of anions on CPF diffusivity. Based on studies, it is evident that the significant individual presence of SO4 2- and Cl- on CPF diffusivity could be noticed; whereas, the combine presence of SO4 2- and Cl-. A benchmarked maximum diffusivity of about 15% could be seen, although the diffusivity values of PF varied between 1.4 and 14.8 %.
