ASSESSING THE EFFECT OF ANTIBACTRIAL ACTIVITY OF COLEUS AMBONICUS LEACHATE INFUSED TWILL TAPE AGAINST BACTERIAL ISOLATESG.K. BALAMURUGAN AND S. BABUSKINAbstract - The antibacterial effect of Twill tape infused with aqueous leaf extract from Coleus ambonicus at different concentrations as 20%, 40% and 80% against three bacterial isolates Pseudomonas spp, Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli were studied by agar well diffusion method at 27°C respectively. The extreme antibacterial impact of aqueous Coleus ambonicus extract was obtained at 80% concentration with 38 mm and 36 mm zone of inhibition for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus respectively. The antibacterial impact of 80% concentration extract infused Twill tape resulted in highest zone of inhibition of 33mm and 30mm zone of inhibition for Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus respectively. For Pseudomonas spp the antibacterial impact was comparatively low.
