Abstract

The article shows the results of applying various methods of weed control in the three-field vegetable crop rotation link. Triple hand weeding, triple inter-row cultivation, use of herbicides for tomatoes by biological effectiveness were equivalent only until the middle of the vegetation season, reducing infestation of crops approximately twice, as compared to the reference. Combination of inter-row cultivation with manual weeding or with band introduction of herbicides reduced the weight of annual weeds by 81 to 84%, and significantly increased crop yield. On average, manual weeding required the net working time of 293 manhour/ ha. When weeding was combined with triple cultivation, costs decreased by 60%. The least amount of manual labor was spent on weeding in the variants where herbicides were introduced in combination with inter-row cultivation. These methods of protecting vegetable crops from weeds did not have negative effect on the quality of product.
