THE TRAINING EFFECTS TOWARD THE INCREASING KNOWLEDGE AND ATTITUDE OF WOMEN IN PRESERVING AND UTILIZING PUDE (CALOPHYLLUM INOPHYLLUM L.) AS ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCE

Abstract

This research aims to analyze training effects toward the increasing knowledge and attitude of women by using training module. With this research, we wanted to know the changed level of knowledge and attitude in preserving and utilizing pude (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) as alternative eco-friendly energy in Parangbanoa, Gowa regency. This research used experimental method with pretest – posttest one group design. The research was conducted in Parangbanoa, Palangga sub-district, Gowa regency with 25 women as respondents and they were chosen by purposive sampling. For data analysis, before and after training was conducted by t-test. The result of the research showed pre score before training of respondent’s knowledge and positive attitude was negatively low. However, there was an improving result of knowledge and attitude after training on conserving and making the best use of pude as alternative eco-friendly energy. The researchers expect this research could convey benefits to all components, like government, nongovernment, or even society so that women could improve their knowledge on environmental issues, have knowledge of green energy, and aware and care to their own environment, so in the end, there is a will to change their behavior. Based on the result of the research, it could be concluded that training by using module of preserving and utilizing pude as alternative energy significantly affected the improvement of women’s knowledge and attitude. Training by using module could be used for women empowerment in increasing women’s knowledge and attitude in preserving and utilizing pude as alternative energy.
