Abstract

Due to the rapid development of technology and its facilities, there is a need to create the structures and materials capable of ensuring the rational use of energy resources. Currently, the market offers a widest breadth of heat-insulating materials of different types, structures and destination. Manufacturers typically determine the specifications provided in the passport for such materials by calculation methods. In case of the complex structure of the material, the simplifying assumptions are used in the calculations. Therefore, the study of the characteristics of thermal insulation materials using experimental methods is an urgent task, as it will allow ensuring a long life of thermal insulation, and as a result, the safety and reliability. The paper is dedicated to the development of the research stand for the measurement of physical and chemical, physical and mechanical, and thermal and physical characteristics (more than 10 characteristics) of heatinsulating materials of different sizes, shapes and structures in the temperature range from 20 °C to 700 °C. The developed research stand is unique and requested to solve a number of problems.
