AEROTECHNOGENIC EVALUATION OF THE DRILLING RIG OPERATOR WORKPLACE AT THE OPEN-PIT COAL MINE

Stanislav Vyacheslavovich Kovshov and Vyacheslav Petrovich Kovshov

Abstract

The article presents the study results for aerotechnogenic environment at the operator workplace of BTS- 150 drilling rig used to drill boreholes in the rock massif for further blasting in order to facilitate further lignite or overburden excavation. It also gives the analysis of occupational conditions in terms of the air environment chemical factor. It has been found that the most typical harmful gaseous air impurities at the drilling rig operator workplaces include propanal and carbon monoxide that contribute to the labor conditions category 3.2. The dust factor at the workplace has been analyzed based on assessing the dust burden on the respiratory system. It showed that the MPC level for limestone low-fibrogenic dust is exceeded 1.125 times, which corresponds to the labor conditions category 3.1, and 3.7 times for highly fibrogenic quartz dust, which corresponds to the category 3.2. In order to reduce the concentration of harmful substances in the drilling rig air environment, the list of the most reasonable technical measures is given where the application of U-2GP-AV gas and dust protection respirator is described in more details.
