Global demand for renewable energy sources (RES) is constantly increasing. By 2050, the increase in their proportion in the global energy production is projected to 35%. Therefore, acquiring baseline information for the hydropower potential assessment of small rivers in the foothill areas suitable for water-saving irrigation technique, as well as the determinationof optimal technical and technological parameters of selfpumped drip irrigation systems, when using the potential energy of the small rivers, and the development of resource-saving technologies for self-pumped drip irrigation of crops employing hydropower potential of small rivers is of great interest.
