STUDY OF PERFORMANCE AND YIELD COMPONENTS AND ADVANCED GENOTYPE CORRELATION IN SAFFLOWER IN ARDEBIL COLD AREA

Hossein Mostafaei

Abstract

To investigate the correlation between yield and yield components of safflower advanced genotypes under rain fed conditions, an experiment was conducted in a randomized complete block design with three replications. In this experiment, 20 genotypes were considered as treatments. Traits in this study were morphological and physiological traits. Analysis of variance showed that the genotypes in terms of processing time, the number of seeds per head, number of heads per plant, days to flowering, seed number per plant, grain weight and grain yield, there are significant differences but in plant height there are no difference between genotypes. The Correlation, number of heads per plant, the number of seeds, seed yield per plant showed a significant positive correlation. Grain weight and number of seeds per plant, seeds per head, number of heads per plant and days to flowering were negatively correlated. Bush height with the grain heads show significant and negative correlation.
