HEAVY METAL ANALYSIS IN DIVERSITY OF HONEYSR. DEVENDER AND H. RAMAKRISHNA
Heavy metals in honey are of interest mainly for quality control and nutritional aspect with the determination of environmental condition. The objective of this work is to determine the levels of heavy metals like Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Mn, Ni, Zn and Co in the diversity of honey samples collected from Paderu forest division in Visakhapatnam district, Osmania University in Hyderabad and Dabur trade honey by Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. The former two types are unifloral and the third type is multi floral. The heavy metal analysis reveals that the Lead occupied the highest concentration then followed by Cr, Zn, Cu, Ni, Co, Cd and Mn in these honey samples.
