SINHAAbstract In the present study, water quality of the River Ganga in the middle Ganga plains (Payne et al., 2004) was assessed with a main objective to develop WQI to assess its suitability for various uses at different spatial and temporal scales. The water quality index shows that water quality was excellent for various uses.
