Abstract

A field experiment was conducted at the Central Research Station, Orissa University of Agriculture and Technology, Bhubaneswar during Kharif season of 2013-14 on Nutrient management of Kharif hybrid rice. Four varieties namely Hybrids DRRH 2, BIO 795, BIO 799 and HYV Pratiskhya and four nutrient management practices viz., FYM @ 5 t ha-1 + NPK @ 120:60:60 kg ha-1, FYM @ 5 t ha-1 + NPK @ 120:60:60 kg ha-1 +ZnSO4@ 25 kg ha-1, FYM @ 5 t ha-1 + NPK @ 120:60:60 kg ha-1 +ZnSO4 @25 kg ha-1 + Borax @ 10 kg ha- 1 and NPK @ 100:50:50 kg ha-1 were studied in a split plot design with 3 replications. Plants of rice hybrid DRRH 2 and Combined application of FYM @ 5 t ha-1 + NPK @ 120:60:60 kg ha-1 + ZnSO4@ 25 kg ha-1 + Borax @ 10 kg ha-1 produced more number of panicles (292.66) with larger size (28.00 cm) containing more bold grains (90.17) and test weight (27.20 g/1000 grains) as compared to other hybrids and HYV, Pratiskhya. It has also recorded higher uptake of all nutrients viz., N, P, K, S, Zn, and B and the maximum grain and straw yield of 4.93 and 5.66 t ha-1, respectively.
