Abstract

An investigation was conducted to evaluate and map the nutrient status of Kavali revenue division. Hundred surface (0-20cm) and hundred sub-surface (20-40cm) soil samples were collected from 18 mandals and analyzed for pH, EC, organic carbon, nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium. The mapping of available nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and organic matter content was developed in GIS platform. The study reveals that the soils were low in low organic carbon content and available nitrogen, medium to high in available phosphorus, high in available potassium and sufficient in iron, manganese and copper content. The available nitrogen and phosphorus were significantly and positively correlated with the organic carbon and negatively correlated with soil pH.
