WETLAND CONSERVATION, MANAGEMENT AND COMMUNITY EDUCATION- A REVIEW OF PUBLISHED PAPER OF 1995-2014

Abstract

This paper aims to quantify the research trend of wetland conservation, management and community education during 1995-2014 with the help of biblometric method. The data were collected from 105 published papers. The published data were retrieved based on the online version of SCI, Web of Science which is multidisciplinary database of the Institute for Scientific Information (ISI), Philadelphia, USA. The study reveals the three subject categories such as Wetland Conservation, Environmental Science and Community Education in this research field were found as higher priority. The results show about 42 Journals, among which only three journals alone have accounted 14% of the total publication. The results also highlight USA has got ranked 1st according to country wise analysis as it produced maximum number of articles but India ranked first as it had highest single publications. This study depicts wetland and conservation were two most popular article title word and keyword used in the article. This paper concludes the trend of wetland community education shifted from scientific conservation of wetlands to conventional ways of conservation through applying local knowledge and technology.
