Abstract

The pooled data indicated that fipronil (5SC) @ 25.0 g a.i./ha resulted lower infestation (8.21%DH) followed by carbofuran (3G) @ 1.0 kg a.i./ha (8.76%DH), acephate (95SG) @ 592 g/ha (8.87%DH) and higher infestation in control (26.74%DH). Similar trend was followed in case of white earhead formation. Maximum grain yield and cost benefit ratio was observed in fipronil (5SC) @ 25.0 g a.i./ha (54.86 q/ha and 1:22.38), based on this findings fipronil (5SC) @ 25.0 g a.i./ha was found to be the best treatment against yellow stem borer in rice.
