Abstract
Experiment was conducted to study the influence of rhizobium inoculation and sulphur on grain yield and its attributes in LL 931 variety of lentil crop in a sandy loam soil in three different locations at farmerâs field in Gurdaspur district of Punjab. The treatments were; T1; Control, T2; Inoculation alone, T3; 125kg SSP/ha+ Inoculation, T4; 87.5 kg DAP/ha+87.5 kg Gypsum/ha+ Inoculation. The treatment comprising 125kg SSP/ ha + inoculation gave significantly higher grain yield, root nodulation, plant height and productive pods per plant followed by treatment where 87.5 kg DAP/ha+87.5 Gypsum/ha+inoculation was applied in all the three locations. Study revealed that sulphur contribution through single superphosphate (SSP) and gypsum maximized lentil yield. Conjoint use of rhizobium and sulphur application has positive impact and improved the yield and its attributes in lentil.
