Abstract

The study conducted on rabi season in 2011-12 for garlic production involving different methods and time of planting revealed that ridge bed method along with October planting time were the best compared to September and November time of planting. Among the methods of plantings, ridge bed method exhibited highest bulb yield (225.47 q /ha), followed by flat beds (210.39 q/ha). The garlic planted on October, 15 recorded highest bulb yield of 262.99q /ha followed by October, 1 (242.57 q/ha) across all planting times. With the very early and delay in planting yield was reduced, the appropriate time of planting is October, 15 for North Gujarat conditions. The lowest yield obtained from November, 15 time of planting.
