GREEN SYNTHESIS OF SILVER NANOPARTICLES USING PARMELIA PERLATAUTHRESHWARANATH K., SASIDHARAN J., YUVRAJ P., ARUNA V., WILLIAM JOHNSON A. AND KARTHIK S.Abstract The process of development of reliable and eco-friendly metallic nanoparticles is an important step in the field of nanotechnology. In order to implement green techniques in the synthesis of silver nanoparticles and to focus on the importance of various sources available world-wide like plant, fungi, bacteria and lichens. An environmental friendly method for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles using Parmelia perlata was carried out. Synthesized AgNPs were characterized using UV-VIS Spectrum, SEM-EDS and FTIR. Antibacterial activity was encountered due to the presence of usnic acid content in the synthesized AgNPs.
